Has the Dust Settled? The Angel & Venture Capital Market in 2009

Entrepreneurs will hear directly from local investors about what is getting funded today, what are typical terms and what can the entrepreneur expect when fundraising in today’s market. Conversations will be led by VCs, Angels and Corporate Business Development experts and moderated by a seasoned legal expert active in negotiating in the current business climate for startups.

Capital Raising from Silicon Valley to Silicon Alley

Raising money on both coasts is an increasingly common strategy. In this session, VCs and angels will share the similarities and differences in fundraising strategies that succeed in each market.

How to Get the Wallet Out of an Investor's Pocket: Creating the Investor Pitch

Entrepreneurs will gain an understanding of the best practices for investor presentations with a focus on how to articulate your company as an attractive investment opportunity. Included in this session will be the essentials for presentations to angels, venture capitalists and strategic investors. Companies will have the opportunity to receive on-the-spot feedback from leading experts.

Building Your Executive Team & Board

Strategic Executive Team and Board building are essential components to success. This session will include an overview of the decision-making process for filling out your executive team - including skill set, culture and experience, as well as resources to utilize when filling these critical positions. This session will also explore investor concerns around founders as executive team members.
