Speaker Bios:

Roland Acra, President and CEO, ArchRock. Roland Acra joined Arch Rock as President and CEO in December 2005. Prior to Arch Rock, he was President and CEO at Procket Networks, a high-end Core Internet Router manufacturer, which he successfully led to an acquisition by Cisco Systems in 2004. Prior to that, Roland held several senior management positions at Cisco Systems from 1991 to 2003, including Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Group Vice President and General Manager of the Public Carrier IP Group, General Manager of the Remote Access Business Unit and Technical Director of Cisco in EMEA. Roland holds Diplome d'Ingenieur degrees from Ecole Polytechnique and from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications (Paris, France) and a Master of Science degree in Statistics from Texas A&M University.

Scott Bolick, Vice President, SAP Sustainability, SAP. Scott works within SAP’s Sustainability Organization, where he leads a core team of sustainability experts that define and ensure the execution of our sustainability strategy as well as orchestrate our participation in the portfolio process.  Previously, Scott was a VP for SAP Portfolio Strategy Group (PSG), which is responsible for the company’s portfolio governance process and drives key cross-topics portfolio priorities.  Scott focused on three cross-topic priorities:  software-as-a-service, mergers & acquisitions, and sustainability solutions .

Previously, Scott was a consultant for both McKinsey & Company and Accenture. While working in McKinsey's Silicon Valley Office, Scott provided guidance on corporate strategy, go-to-market plans, and partnership opportunities to the world's leading independent software and hardware vendors. During his time with Accenture (then Andersen Consulting), he recommended and implemented technology designed to improve the business processes of media and entertainment clients.

Scott also served as the Vice President, Secure Networks Solutions and Applications, at Enterasys Networks. In this role, Scott provided leadership for the company's security software to include product management, solutions marketing, and partnership development.

Additionally, Scott served in various leadership roles in the US Army during his five years of service. Scott holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS from the United States Military Academy (West Point).

Gerd Goette, Managing Partner, Siemens Ventures. Gerd is Managing Partner, based in Palo Alto, CA. He specializes in investments in energy, communications and industrial solutions.

With more than 20 years of worldwide industry experience, he combines a strong technical background with wide-ranging operational skills. Prior to joining Siemens Venture Capital in September 2000, Gerd held the position of Vice President and Head of CableTV Solutions in Siemens Information and Communication Networks.

Gerd received a master’s degree in electrical engineering (Dipl. Ing.) from Technical University Darmstadt, Germany.

Ron Lloyd, Chief Operating Officer, FatSpaniel Technologies. Mr. Lloyd has more than 20 years of experience in high technology process management including leadership roles at Hewlett Packard, Sun Microsystems and Tesla Motors, Inc. At Fat Spaniel Technologies, Lloyd will guide the operational ramp-up of the company’s independent monitoring services for renewable energy OEMs, integrators and PPA service providers worldwide.

Before joining the team at Fat Spaniel Technologies, Lloyd served as vice president of the White Star Program for Tesla Motors, Inc., where he established and developed the overall manufacturing program plan and business model in Detroit. Lloyd currently serves on the board for Grid Alternatives, a non-profit that provides solar electric solutions for low-income Californian homeowners. Ron holds a BS in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College, and an MS in Environmental Engineer and Science from Stanford University.

Laurie Yoler, Managing Director, GrowthPoint Technology Partners. Laurie Yoler has been helping emerging technology companies grow for over twenty years as an executive, advisor, investor and board member. Ms. Yoler currently serves on the board of advisors of Tesla Motors, the board of directors of the Washington State University Research Foundation, the advisory board of DNA Direct, and the TIE Clean Tech Advisory Board.

Previously, Yoler was chief development officer at Intellectual Ventures, working with Nathan Myhrvold exploring invention and investment opportunities in a wide variety of technology areas ranging from software, user interface design, semiconductors, electronic devices, consumer products, lasers, biotechnology and medical devices.

Yoler graduated summa cum laude from Washington State University with a B.A. in management information systems. She also completed a year abroad in the international business program at the University of Copenhagen. She completed executive management programs at both Kellogg and INSEAD.
