Female Technology Entrepreneurs to Reveal the Secrets of their Success at a Mixed Networking Meetup with First Tuesday Tech aficionados and start-ups will come together in London on June 2 for an informal networking event hosted by The NextWomen and First Tuesday at Paul Allen's private club, The Hospital, where three of the UK's most successful female technology entrepreneurs will reveal the stories of their success. ‘Secrets Revealed: Female Technology Entrepreneurs - Stories of Success from Women in Tech' will focus on the lives of three women: Cary Marsh, founder of Mydeo; Katarina Skoberne, founder of OpenAd.net and Angel Gambino, Social Entrepreneur, ex Bebo VP and advisor to Sellaband. Cary Marsh has found online success with her video sharing site Mydeo, and yet she is not indicative of your average tech entrepreneur. What Cary has done so well, is find a good idea at the right time, with the right funding, and yet without any prior experience - Mydeo is in effect a home-grown Web 2.0 success story. Second on the roll call, Katarina Skoberne, has been involved in advertising for the last ten years, having founded the first online marketplace for creative solutions, OpenAd.net, which uses managed crowd sourcing to generate creative solutions across all paid media including online and offline, print and video. The final speaker, Angel Gambino, has an enviably lengthy and comprehensive CV. With a background in innovative enterprise and investment in high quality digital entertainment that aim to create social good, she is currently Director of a number of businesses as well as member of numerous other boards. Perhaps her most high profile positions to date have been Global VP for both Bebo and MTV Networks, as well as the responsibility of extending the BBCs television and radio brands across mobile, broadband and on-demand platforms. With recent government statistics indicating that more women than ever before are setting up online companies, be it a marketplace, service provider or agency; the face of business is changing, challenging the traditional male tech stereotype. At this mixed event the women who have succeeded will describe the parts played by various members of their teams - male and female alike - and the steps and risks they have taken in getting there. During the second half of the evening, attendees will enjoy one-to-one networking with their fellow entrepreneurs and speakers of the evening. Founders, leaders and investors, male and female, young and old will be able to share their knowledge and industry know how. Although the first of its kind, this will be the latest addition to the ever popular NextWomen events, and one that is set to redress the male:female balance of Tech events. The aim is for 65 men and 65 women, and with the event still two weeks away tickets are selling at speed. TheNextWomen.com is the brainchild of Simone Brummelhuis, who has created an international online magazine and cross-media platform about women in business aimed at women leading, investing or founding start-ups and internet-based businesses. The event is organised in conjunction with First Tuesday - the independent Business Think Tank which encourages and supports the creation of knowledge where business intersects policy, technology and innovation. They have 41 000 members across 18 countries and are helping to make the event carbon neutral. Simone Brummelhuis:"Women need men, men need women so be successful in tech business, so it's time for this mixed tech event to meet, connect and do business."
