Positioning your company to increase value in a trade sale
Guest speaker: Hazel Moore
In 1999 Hazel co-founded FirstCapital, which is a European investment bank specialising in M&A and raising capital for high growth technology companies. In 2005 she expanded the group by co-founding FirstVentures which manages a portfolio of venture capital investments on behalf of a European family office. She has over 20 years’ experience in advising clients on fundraising, M&A, strategic issues and investment, and has advised on numerous transactions over this period. Earlier in her career Hazel worked in London and Hong Kong for W.I. Carr, an institutional Asian stockbroker, in a variety of roles including Sales Director and Head of Equity Research. In this latter role she was responsible for a market-leading team of analysts, and for setting and communicating investment strategies to a global institutional client base. Hazel has an MA in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Hazel is on the Investment Advisory Panel of the North West Fund, a £185mn fund investing in the North West region of the UK, and is a member of the Emerging Industries and Technologies Panel of the Technology Strategy Board, which is responsible for advising the UK Government on national technology strategy and investing in and promoting innovation across the UK.
Women 4 Technology is an informal network exclusively for female CEOs, CXOs, VCs and business angels in the technology sector.
Since launching in Cambridge in April 2009, Women 4 Technology expanded its remit to London in 2010. Events are run quarterly on an invitation-only basis by Bailey Fisher Executive Search.
