Astia Angel invests over $1 million in nVision Medical and EcoTensil

Astia Angel has made its first two investments in nVision Medical and EcoTensil. Astia Angel’s investments in the two companies totaled over $1 million.

nVision Medical, led by CEO, Surbhi Sarna, is a medical device company that is developing a portfolio of products in the female health market. The company raised a Series A round from Catalyst Health Ventures, Draper Associates, Seraph Group, and others. According to CEO, Surbhi Sarna, “the Astia investment process is what every aspiring entrepreneur hopes for. All in all, a very entrepreneur friendly process with the end result of having not only funding, but a vast network of advisors to choose from.”

EcoTensil, led by CEO, Peggy Cross, creates the most eco-friendly and ultra compact single-use utensils available in the market. The Company raised a Series A round from multiple angel groups, including Keiretsu Forum, Harvard Angels, the Berkeley Angel Network and others. According to CEO, Peggy Cross, “Astia Angel was wonderful to work with and very organized. We plan to tap into the vast network of Astia members, to which the Astia team has graciously offered to make appropriate introductions. We look forward to ongoing relations with this inspiring group."

Over 10 members of Astia Angel participated in the investments, including Founding Astia Angel, Roger Bamford, senior architect at Oracle and an active angel investor in numerous technology start-ups since the early 1990’s. According to Bamford, “nVision and EcoTensil are both attractive investments with impressive CEOs, significant market opportunities and clear paths to exit. I look forward to participating in future Astia Angel deals.”
